Survival & Living Off-Grid

Men and women, especially in the western world, have completely lost touch with Mother Earth. The majority of people are totally dependent on the instant gratification of grocery stores for food and the essentials of living. But what would happen if a natural or man-made disaster were to strike? Are you prepared? If the disaster was widespread and prolonged, how long could you survive if all delivery trucks came to a grinding halt and lawlessness broke out? Millions of people lack basic knowledge about self-sufficiency and things like farming, fishing, and hunting. Even less would be able to protect life and property in the ensuing civil unrest. Educate yourself, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Even if a disaster never happens, living off-grid provides a level of freedom that the "civilized world" can't match. Alternative energy technologies are becoming more advanced, and maybe one day we will live more in harmony with nature--and without utility bills.
