    On this day in history, May 7, 1945...

    General Alfred Jodl signed unconditional surrender terms in Reims, France, which ended Germany's participation in World War II The document took effect the next day. General Alfred Jodl was tried and convicted of war crimes at the Nuremberg Trials and was executed in 1946.
