On this day in history, June 12, 1994.. Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered outside of Simpson's home in Los Angeles. Her estranged husband, O.J. Simpson, was later charged but acquitted of the murders by a jury following a lengthy and highly-publicized trial. The families of the victims later filed a civil suit against O.J., and in 1997 a civil court awarded a $33.5 million judgment against O.J. for the victims' wrongful deaths.
